Let It Come
There’s a new, impossibly adorable, little creature that you are now in charge of.
Making decisions for them is not without uncertainty, contemplation, or worry.
Each decision has it’s own weight. It’s own importance.
Fear is a normal part of being a parent.
Sometimes it’s paralyzing. Overwhelming.
Often, it fans the flames of a fire in your belly that didn’t exist until you felt your baby’s skin on your chest.
Fear pushes you to ask questions and gather more information.
To lean on others and invite them to share their knowledge so you can be a tiny bit more confident in your decisions.
Then, you do the best you can with what you know right now.
You worry each step of the way.
The fear is important. Protective.
Let it come.
Should your path have unexpected or regretful bumps (sometimes it will), know that you did your best for the situation you were in.
Have compassion for yourself and the parent you were at that time.
Then deeply inhale and let the past vaporize with a long, slow exhale.
That experience will help shape your future. It wasn’t a total loss.
Another decision is on the horizon to ponder.
Let it come.
